One of the Illawarra’s most successful companies has a new name, new look and new focus. Accent Communications will tomorrow unveil a name change to Accent Business Technology at the IBC Business Expo. Along with the name change, the company will adopt a new corporate logo and visual identity along with a new tagline – Smart Thinking.
Having aggressively expanded into new technology services and undergone significant growth in the past few years Accent believes the word "communications" means its former name no longer adequately describes the scope of its business.
“We are excited about our new corporate identity and believe that our clients and prospects will have a more concrete understanding of how and what we deliver,” said Accent’s Director Shane Hornby.
The change in name has been designed to reflect the company's diversified business plan while recognizing its long-standing business presence in the Illawarra. Founded nearly 20 years ago and probably best known for its telephony services, Accent now offers a suite of technology solutions for businesses which include office and mobile communications, computer and information technology services, vehicle tracking and security products.
“Our company long ago accomplished the mission implied by our old name," said Hornby. "As the company continues to grow and evolve our new corporate identity better reflects our expanded mission to help our clients make smart investments in technology to maximise productivity and profitability and drive their business."
The past decade has witnessed significant technological advances and Accent embraced these changes and began their own unique transformation. They evaluated their mission, strengths and weaknesses against the growth possibilities offered and most importantly, took risks to pursue the opportunities that they believed offered them continued success.
“Our growth has been focused and strategic, aimed at building a company with a consistent culture, level of service and commitment to our clients. By adapting to become Accent Business Technology, we see an opportunity to build a stronger and more defined brand in a fiercely competitive market," added Hornby.
"It is another key milestone in the evolution of our company and sets us on an exciting new course for the next 20 years as we proactively respond to the changing technology needs of our clients.”
Accent Business Technology today has revenues exceeding $10 million per annum and a staff of over 50. Still headquartered in Wollongong, it services over 3000 clients around Australia.
